The goal of the project is to upgrade and electrify the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) line, from Plovdiv to Svilengrad and to the Turkish and Greek borders.
(2008 – 2011) ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ new Regional Dispatching Centre
In the early days of Prolan we focused on the automation of electric power networks. We developed our own solution for controlling and monitoring transformer substations using the distributed, field-oriented device family called ProField-A and a Local Data Display. The financial growth of the company was achieved by participating in the ÜRIK project, a nationwide telemetering system for electric energy distribution (funded by World Bank) as a subcontractor to Siemens. This project provided the opportunity to install improved versions of RTU devices (called ProField-B) to the electric power transmission and distribution networks operated by Hungarian Power Companies Ltd (MVM), Southern Trans-Danubian Electric Utility Company (DÉDÁSZ), Northern Trans-Danubian Electric Utility Company (ÉDÁSZ) and Trans-Tisza Electric Utility Company (TITÁSZ). We were able to maintain our market leader position after the ÜRIK project which put us on a steady path of growth.
Our references now include several ProField RTUs operating at 28 substations of Hungarian Transmission System Operator Co. Ltd. (MAVIR), all the substations of Northern Hungarian Electric Utility Company (ÉMÁSZ) and Southern Hungarian Electric Utility Company (DÉMÁSZ) and most of the substations of the electric utility companies of E.ON in the Northern and Southern Trans-Danubian area. After our successful work in substations we started to work on distribution networks. We have over 1 500 pole mounted RTUs equipped with radio communication operating on the medium voltage electric network of the Southern Hungarian Electric Utility Company (DÉMÁSZ), EDE Ltd. and Northern Hungarian Electric Utility Company (ÉMÁSZ).The ProField-B family was replaced in 2000 by the highly integrated ProField-C units. Further developments of the Local Data Displays led to the ZEUS SCADA system being used in the power industry.
The SCADA system of EdF Southern Hungarian Electric Utility Company (DÉMÁSZ) – including the process control of the substations, the control of the majority of pole mounted switches and the Regional Dispatching Centre (KDSZ) – was installed by Prolan. The dispatching centre operates 56 substations and approximately 40 000 data points supporting the work of the operators since 2001.
The SCADA system developed by our system engineers operates in five Substations’ Remote Control Centres (SRCC) and the Main Control Centre of the Hungarian Transmission System Operator Co. Ltd. (MAVIR) to operate the electric power grid. In 2009 we won the tender for installing Regional Dispatching Centres (LDC) at Northern Hungarian Electric Utility Company (ÉMÁSZ) competing with four multinational corporations and we also were granted an option to supply the control system for ELMŰ LLC. The system equipped with SCADA, DMS (Distribution Management System), EMS (Energy Management System) and OMS (Outage Management System) functions was successfully tested and commissioned in March 2012. The system operates together with the old system which is still available as backup.
The phase angle measurement system realised as a special application based on the ProField-C family has been integrated into the RTUs of MAVIR’s transmission network. Synchrophasor measurements data are processed by the phasor data concentrator (PDC) centre installed by Prolan.
