Milestone in Railway Digitalization on the Budapest–Hegyeshalom Main Line
Prolan reached another milestone in railway digitization on behalf of R-KORD Kft. as the main contractor, as part of the project entitled "Eliminating congestion and improving connectivity on the Budapest (Kelenföld) – Hegyeshalom line".
With the introduction of KÖFI (Central Traffic Control) and technological remote monitoring systems (FET, HETA, switch heating, area lighting), real-time central traffic control has become possible along the entire 175 km section of the Budapest–Hegyeshalom main line.
During the development:
-
15 stations were equipped with ELPULT-based remote control,
-
4 stations with AKF-based remote control, and
-
1 station with AKF-based remote supervision,
in close cooperation with MÁV’s specialists.
The system provides a unified interface for displaying feedback from different types and generations of interlocking equipment, while also integrating the supervision of overhead line, turnout heating, and lighting systems.
Thanks to automated traffic control, the line’s capacity and operational reliability have significantly increased, improving passenger comfort and service quality.
Prolan’s proprietary hardware and software solutions have contributed to higher railway capacity, efficiency, and safety — all without the need for major infrastructure reconstruction.
