The Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, Olaf Lies, recently paid a professional visit to E.ON’s site in Hanover, where he gained insight into the practical implementation of smart metering and energy management systems in Germany.

The setups shown in the images illustrate the operation of the Smart Meter and control infrastructure introduced in Germany, in which Prolan’s Steuerbox control unit is also integrated as part of the regulation process. Accompanied by technical experts, the Prime Minister personally reviewed the system architecture and expressed interest in technologies supporting the digitalization of the energy sector.

The aim of the Hanover event was to demonstrate how solutions from various industry stakeholders are interconnected in shaping the future operation of the energy system.
